FAQ

Here you will find the most frequently asked questions that we have to answer.

There are many, and new ones are added almost every day. When entering your delivery address, simply choose from a list of all countries available at the time.

Provided the products you order are in stock, it usually takes two to four working days within Europe and five to ten working days internationally.

Shipping is free for orders within the EU worth over €40 and for international orders worth over €100. Otherwise, our system calculates the cheapest method on the day and offers it to you when you complete your order.

Of course you can. After your order has been handed over to our logistics partner, you will receive a tracking code by email, which you can use to track your package from our warehouse to your delivery location.

We aim for maximum circularity in the development of all our products. That is why we take responsibility and take care of the products we manufacture even at the end of their life. Please send them to us at the following address and we will take care of an environmentally conscious recycling or disposal process:

Winqs Sports GmbH
(Circular Program)
c/o C*Space
Langhansstraße 86
13086 Berlin
Germany

If your products are still in good shape or just need a professional touch-up, we might have even better options for you. Visit our circular economy page to find out how your shoes or shirt can be repaired and donated.

In addition to quite a better feeling, you will also receive a 10% voucher for every WINQS product you send in. Either add a short note to your package with your email address or send us a message to hello@winqssports.com with a reference to your package (name, shipping number and the email address for which the voucher shall be created).

Many brands use the terms "bio-based" and "bio-degradable" as synonyms. This is wrong.

Bio-based materials or products consist to a significant extent of natural substances. However, if other components are also present, such as petroleum-based plastics, they are not biodegradable and must be disposed of industrially in a similar way to conventional plastics. Nevertheless, they are generally more sustainable than conventional solutions, as they require significantly fewer problematic components (e.g. plastic) and therefore protect nature.

Biodegradable materials are usually bio-based, but they don't have to be - like the upper of our shoe, for example. They are biodegradable if they can be decomposed by living organisms (e.g. saprobionts) or their enzymes within a maximum of 6 months and thus leave no waste behind. This process is much more environmentally friendly than chemical recycling or incineration.

Incidentally, composting is a sub-form of biodegradability. In fact, many materials require very special conditions to decompose, which often have to be created in appropriate industrial facilities. Materials that are compostable only require the usual conditions of a compost and decompose much faster, in a maximum of 3 months.

At WINQS, we follow the approach of manufacturing as close to the origin of our raw materials as possible - "Produced at Source". And always in regularly inspected and certified factories that follow uniform ethical and ecological standards.

Our textiles made from European eucalyptus fibers, for example, are manufactured in Portugal, while those made from corn waste are produced in the Czech Republic. Recyclable materials collected in Asia, such as rubber waste or ocean plastic, are used directly on site to produce our shoes or bags - in Vietnam, China and Taiwan.

Some articles for which there are no partners or not the right materials in Europe are produced under controlled conditions in Asia. In particular, we have recycled raw materials, such as rubber scrap or marine plastics, processed directly on site, for example into outer soles or bags. All our direct suppliers have to pass an audit on ethical and ecological standards before production (e.g. SMETA).

If we are guided by the usual criteria, then yes. But we don't like the term "climate neutral" because it implies that the existence of our company would leave no ecological footprint. That's why we prefer to call ourselves "climate responsible" rather than "climate neutral".

To achieve this, we are reducing our footprint by using sustainable materials, such as bio-based lyocell fabrics. These often clean the air as soon as they are created, for example as trees, and require significantly less energy to process. In collaboration with Arbor, we measure our CO2 footprint and make it public on a climate profile page. We then offset the CO2 emissions generated through certified compensation projects via the myclimate foundation. You can find out all the details under climate neutrality.

One of the many flaws of the global sporting goods industry is its strategic overproduction. They would rather flood the market with cheap discontinued goods at the end of a season than sell a few shirts less. Pre-orders help us to optimally estimate the demand for the respective product. This way, there are fewer leftovers in the warehouse and we can start cleanly with the next collection.

Of course you can. If you are an ambitious athlete for whom sustainability is particularly important, register via our ambassador form. If you and your fans are a good fit with us, we may be able to create an exciting collaboration.

The term "sustainable" is now all too often used for greenwashing. In fact, only things or actions that have a neutral or positive balance are ecologically sustainable. But no matter how carefully sports shoes or running shirts are manufactured, they will always consume resources and cause CO2 emissions. Sporting goods cannot therefore be sustainable by their very nature, but they can be produced more sustainably than alternatives and therefore cause less damage. And that is precisely our goal.
